For the enjoyment of all, the following code of conduct is expected to be followed by Players, Parents and Coaches:
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT:
Teamwork is a fundamental part of football. Respect for yourself and others in the game is fundamentally important.
- You must accept responsibility for your own behaviour. Swearing or other bad behaviour is not acceptable.
- You must always show respect to officials, players, their parents and coaches of both your team AND the apposing team.
- You must respect and look after your equipment. Throwing helmets is extremely dangerous and will not be tolerated.
- You should make every effort to attend all practices and games.
- If you are unable to attend a practice or game, let your coach know as soon as possible so he may find a replacement.
- You should make every effort to improve your own skills and technique.
- You should make every effort consistent with fair play and the rules of the game, to help your team win.
- You must respect and look after all practice and game fields.
- HAVE FUN PLAYING FOOTBALL!
PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT:
Parents/Guardians have a great influence on children's enjoyment and success in football. Your expectations and attitudes have
a significant bearing on a child's attitude towards other players, officials, coaches and spectators.
- Avoid coaching during practices and games unless invited to do so by a coach.
- Do not constantly shout and scream at players.
- Respect the decisions of all officials, whether qualified or unqualified. New and young officials should be encouraged and supported.
- Do not make any comments other than complimentary towards players, officials and spectators of opposing teams.
- Offer plenty of support and encouragement towards all players during games.
- Ensure that all players are dressed appropriately for the weather conditions and have the correct footwear and drinks.
- Inform the coach if a child cannot attend a practice or a game and make every effort to arrive on time.
- Respect the decisions and team selection of the team coach. These are the sole responsibility of the coach whose decision is final. Remember, they are volunteers who give up their time and resources to provide football for your children.
- Complaints in respect of the running of a game must be dealt with by the coach. It is not acceptable for individuals to take matters into their own hands.
- If the behaviour of any adult associated with any team player is considered to fall below the required standard, this may result in the membership of that player being suspended from the team.
- Remember that children play football for their own enjoyment, not for your entertainment.
- Help your kids HAVE FUN PLAYING FOOTBALL!
